A JAILED salesman who sold defective cars and told customers he would kill them and burn their house down has been ordered to repay more than £150,000, a court has heard.

Cwmbran man Robert Knight, of Mountain Road, ran RK Transport on the Llantarnam Industrial Estate and has been previously sentenced after pleading guilty to 15 charges of engaging in unfair commercial practice and one count of supplying a dangerous product.

He was sentenced to a three-year term, which was extended for a further seven months in April, 2016.

At Newport Crown Court today, RK Transport Trade Centre Ltd was given a three year conditional discharge.

Knight pleaded guilty on behalf of the company to a charge of trading recklessly and engaging in commercial practice that was aggressive, the court heard.

The court heard that the company is no longer trading, and that the boss of the company Knight had been ordered to repay £156,359.33 at a proceeds of crime hearing at Newport Crown Court on Thursday.

Out of that sum, £16,359.33 will be paid as compensation to consumers, the court heard.
