REGISTRATION for the Mic Morris memorial 10k road race, which will take place on Sunday, September 17, has closed with the full quota of runners filled.

Returning for its seventh year, the event attracts runners to Torfaen in a route starting in Blaenavon and working its way towards Pontypool Park.

All profits will be donated to the Mic Morris Memorial Sporting Trust Fund, set up in memory of Pontypool international middle distance runner Mic Morris, a Commonwealth Games hopeful who died while on a training run in 1983.

Torfaen road closures will be in place on the day.
