A CHARITY festival will launch at a Torfaen music venue this month, with proceeds donated towards a family charity.

The Families Need Fathers event will take place between Friday, August 25, and Sunday, August 27 at the Dragonffli music venue in Crumlin Street, Pontypool.

The three-day event will be in support of national charity, Families Need Fathers, which helps parents to have contact with children following parental separation.

The charity offers information, advice and support to families and operates more than 50 branches across the UK.

The event will include a mix of bands from Gwent and outside the area while a “acoustic corner” will return showcasing singer-songwriters on the Saturday and Sunday between 4.30pm and 9pm.

On Friday, August 25, doors will open at 6pm with six bands playing. The first act will open at 6pm and the last act will play from 11pm until finish.

Bands include This Is Wreckage, The Ice Giants, In with The Jellyfish, Ghosts As Alibis, Jenovese and Malum Sky.

On Saturday, August 26, the first band starts at 4pm and last band takes to the stage at 11pm.

Acts include No Glory, Second Sons, Doomcrow, Blackjack Zero,Ten Plus One, Old Samuel, My Diablo and the The Caspiens.

On Sunday, August 27, doors open at 3pm with the last band taking to the stage at 10pm.

Handsome Ape, Reclvse, Apathy Avenue, I Digress, Broken Device, Audioplague, Hide Your Eyes and White Noise Radio are playing.
