A MUSICAL store owner and guitar teacher from Blaenavon has had a full face shave to raise money for a cancer charity campaign.
Dave Holland, 58, braved the shave for Macmillan on Saturday, September 30 after a discussion in his local pub – The Upper Cock in Croesyceiliog.
“Truthfully it was a suggestion made in the pub as I’ve had a beard for a very long time,” said Mr Holland, the owner of Frets Guitars on Broad Street, “I did the full face shave.”
The musician added that he decided to go under the shears after his wife’s mother died from cancer and kickstarted an impromptu fundraising attempt.
“I had about a week and a half of fundraising and although I haven’t counted it all up yet, it’s around £200,” said Mr Holland.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so by visiting Frets Guitars in Blaenavon.
