THE WINNER of one of our monthly Camera Club competitions has been awarded with a framed print of her photo thanks to a Blaenavon business.

After one of our sponsors pulled out, Artie Craftie offered to donate the prize.

The award-winning post office and arts and craft shop offers a full framing service to its customers alongside having an in-house photography studio.

The husband and wife team behind the business, Nick and Wendy Horler, were happy to support winner Sarah Debnam - owner of ‘Sarah Debnam Photography’.

The Caerleon mum-of two has been in business for a year and took the winning picture in her own garden.

“Nick did a really good print and frame and we were chatting and showing each other our photographs," she said.

“Photography can be quite competitive and it was nice to chat with someone else and be supportive to each other.”

“I’m really pleased to win and my youngest daughter is saying that I’m famous because I have been in the newspaper," she added.

Mr Horler said: “I wish her well on her career path of being a professional photographer. She’s obviously growing and has some lovely ideas.

“The standard of photography since digital has got better and better and some of the images you see on Facebook are stunning."

He added: “I personally think the local photographers around this area do some magnificent work”.
