A SELECTION of hand-crafted Christmas gifts and decorations made by a number of West Monmouth School students from the traveller community has raised almost £45 for a homeless shelter.
The Pontypool pupils set up a stand to sell the items at Bron Afon Community Housing office in Cwmbran last Friday.
The donation will help pay for some Christmas meals and stockings for visitors to the shelter.
Gemma Webster, an involvement officer with Bron Afon, said: “Their creative skills are fantastic.
“The holly wreaths were made on the morning of the sale and were really popular with visitors to our office.
“They also made gift cards and Christmas tree decorations.
“It’s lovely that people who are struggling at this time of year will benefit thanks to their efforts.”
