A FUNDING surgery linked to BBC’s Children in Need will be coming to Torfaen for organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people across the borough.

The session aims to create a dialogue to discuss project proposals and obtain advice on its eligibility for funding and takes place on Tuesday, March 13.

James Bird, BBC Children in Need Wales' national officer, said: “We are calling on organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people across the Torfaen to get in touch and come along to our funding surgery to discuss submitting a funding application for a proposed project and find out more about BBC Children in Need’s grants.

"We already fund a number of projects in the area and welcome new applications.”

BBC Children in Need funds two types of grants, its Small Grants Programme is for grants up to and including £10,000 to support projects for up to three years.

The charity’s Main Grants Programme is for grants over £10,000 per year to support projects for up to three years. All projects funded by the charity must demonstrate a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged people under 18.

The session takes place in the community room at the Torfaen Voluntary Alliance Office between 10am and 4pm.

Applications must be received by Friday, February 23 and successful applicants will be advised of their appointment time by Monday, March 5.
