MELIN Homes has risen up The Sunday Times ‘Best Places to Work in the Not-For-Profit Sector’ top 100 list.

The Pontypool-based housing association has featured on the list for the past four years, with its 2018 rating the highest it has achieved to date.

In 2017, the social landlord placed 37th and has jumped up 20 places to inside the top 20 to 17th.

Paula Kennedy, the chief executive at Melin Homes said; “Seventeenth place is a real achievement.

“These awards really matter to our leadership team at Melin because it’s given on the basis on how staff genuinely feel about the place they work and reflects the reality of what a great place Melin is to work.”

The housing association also came sixth on the top 25 ‘Best Housing Associations To Work For’ list, won a special award for ‘Giving Something Back’ and received two-star accreditation.

In a poll, 88 per cent of staff agreed the organisation is run on strong principles, 97 per cent agreed Melin encourages charitable activities and 80 per cent said they are happy with the work and life balance.
