RUGBY legend Scott Quinnell will join TV host Paul Child for an evening of Welsh nostalgia at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran.
The former Welsh international prop will make his stand-up debut with the singer and Sky TV presenter, who co-hosts The Welsh Show on Wednesday evenings.
Mr Child said: “I've worked with Scott at private functions where he has given an after dinner speech and he is absolutely hilarious.
“I usually bring a comedian with me on my shows so I decided to ask Scott and I'm delighted that he has agreed - the audience are in for a real treat."
The rugby star, who has belted out the Welsh national anthem at the Millennium Stadium many times, will perform with his nine-piece orchestra at the theatre in Gwent Square from 7.30pm on September 28.
The show will include old favourites and a few new songs.
He added: "I've always loved performing in Cwmbran, I used to play at the workmen's club regularly as well as lots of other clubs in the area.
“It's great that lots of people who first saw me in the clubs now come to see my show in the Congress.”
Tickets cost £15 / £13.50 and are available from the box office on 01633 868 239.
