BARONESS Randerson of the Wales Office visited a Torfaen social enterprise in radio training for people with disabilities.
It was part of a visit to the area which also saw her meet with Gwent Police.
But it was her tour of the radio station which she said had made it worthwhile.
"I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Able Radio and meeting the enthusiastic volunteers and staff,” she said. “Able Radio is a brilliant example of the Big Society in action, a social enterprise providing training and skills and adding quality to people's lives."
She was also given a review of the activities offered by Ty Nant Buzz group, and took part in an interview on her duties as a peer and role as Wales Office minister.
She also visited the training room, complete with a green screen, which saw her fulfill a “long held ambition” to have a go at doing the weather, and saw a demonstration of hands-on music.
Able Radio is based at Ty Nant Ddu, Hospital Road, Pontypool. For more information call 01495 750929 or email rob@ableradio.com
