TORFAEN council will be joining the Lights Out campaign on Monday, August 4 to mark the hour that Britain entered the First World War one hundred years ago.

Lights Out is an invitation by the Royal British Legion to everyone in the UK to turn off their lights from 10pm until 11pm, leaving on a single light as a shared moment of reflection.

The council will be leaving on a single night light in the foyer of its Civic Centre building to mark the occasion.

Lights Out is a headline project of the cultural programme 14-18 NOW which forms part of the official commemoration of the First World War.
