AN AUCTION at a church in Trevethin - with special guest, former Pontypool schoolboy and Newport Gwent Dragon’s player, Taulupe Faletau - has helped to raise vital funds to eradicate dry rot from its floor.
St Cadoc's Church in Trevethin held the auction on Wednesday last week (October 8).
The Rector of Pontypool, Reverend Canon Brian Pippen, called the event a success as it raised £1,100.
The money will be added to the church fund to repair the dry rot in its floor and to install a toilet in the building for church users.
He said: “Thanks goes to the organising committee and the people who kindly supported it.”
He also wished to thank the local businesses and individuals who donated items for the auction.
Ann Phillips, fundraising coordinator at the church, said that everyone who came had a wonderful time.
