GWENT Police have spoken to a 13-year-old boy after an incident when the local MP reported a can of coke was dropped on a teacher at Croesyceiliog Comprehensive School knocking her out and leaving her in a pool of blood.

Monmouth MP David Davies said the teacher, who lives in Abergavenny was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital on Friday morning.

He said the police were not called immediately and that he wanted to know "why the school did not call police right away. I’m told they were following a protocol but this teacher was knocked out cold and left in a pool of blood.”

A spokesman for Gwent Police said: “We have spoken to a 13 year old boy who voluntarily attended a police station yesterday evening - enquiries are continuing”

Gwent Police had earlier confirmed that they were called to Croesyceiliog Comprehensive school at around 9.30am on Friday 13 February "to a report of a teacher being injured by a falling object".

They said at the time: “An officer attended and Gwent Police is currently investigating an allegation of assault. No arrests have been made, and as the investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
