A CWMBRAN mother is in the final of a beauty pageant and is raising money for charity.

Samantha Yemm, 32, from Coed Eva, has been entered as a Miss Inspiration finalist along with a few other selected females women from around the UK.

She said: “I am hoping that this competition will boost my confidence.”

The pageant is open to woman and girls aged six and up. Mrs Yemm will be in the Miss Inspiration Women’s division. This includes an opening number, fashion wear and evening gown rounds.

This is Mrs Yemm’s second pageant as she was a finalist in the Miss Galaxy Wales competition representing Torfaen held in January, but missed out on the top spot.

She described how she was pregnant at 15 years old and had to juggle both doing her GCSEs as well as being a mother.

Now, the mother of four says that she is doing the pageant for her children adding “they are my inspiration”.

She said she wants to inspire her children as much as they have inspired her.

The Miss Inspiration pageant is raising funds for the Three Steps Forward charity that aims to raise a £100,000 for Ayla Mae Hemmes who suffers with cerebral palsy.

Mrs Yemm has raised £197 so far and is doing numerous fundraising events as part of her charity effort.

She was previously voted the face of Cwmbran Shopping Centre for the last two years, and is now being sponsored by them for this pageant.

The Miss Inspiration finals take place on Saturday, March 21 at the Dolman Theatre, Newport.
