POLICE are appealing for the drivers and passengers of a two-car crash in Pontypool to come forward.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a road traffic collision on Varteg Road in Varteg, Pontypool, at around 2.26am on Friday morning.

Police found two damaged Mini’s, one of which was alight.

The fire service dealt with the fire and Varteg Road was closed for recovery for several hours.

No drivers or passengers were on the scene and searches of the local area proved negative.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the occupants of the vehicles.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about the identity of the occupants is asked to ring 101 quoting log 50 10/07/15
