A GWENT biker who died in a crash last week has been named as Richard Williams from Pontypool.

Richard, 24, died after the crash on Rover Way in Cardiff on Wednesday July 8

Richard’s family have issued a tribute to him, saying: “Richard was a loving son, grandson and nephew to his mother, father, john and all of his family who are completely devastated.

“Known to his friends and family as “dickie”, he was a local boy to Cwmbran who enjoyed a good education at Croesyceiliog comprehensive school before gaining a degree in mechanical engineering at Newport University.

“He later worked at Fitzgerald’s Engineering in Cwmbran where he was a popular member of the team and his passion was spending time in his garage carrying out engineering projects for his family and friends. He was happiest when he was pottering with anything mechanical.

“Richard was also an accomplished guitarist and had recently joined a local band.

“He was loved to bits by all his family and he will be dearly missed. He will always be remembered.”
