MORE than 110 pupils attended a transition day at Fairwater High School on Friday.
The AYP Transition Festival on behalf of Torfaen Sports Development was for pupils starting at the new Cwmbran High School in September and aimed to introduce pupils to the new surroundings in an enjoyable way.
Pupils from Coed Eva, Woodlands and Greenmeadow primary schools enjoyed activities including dancing, hockey, basketball and cricket, while meeting future classmates.
Organiser Jacob Guy said: “We had sports volunteers and coaches leading the sessions throughout the day and it was a great success.
"We link the transition days with local clubs, so pupils have an easy route to do the sport in a community club.
"Hopefully these events inspire pupils to take up more sport or even become sports volunteers within school clubs.”
