A CWMBRAN couple are hoping to take the children's party world by storm – with their Little Soldiers' Bootcamp.

Ex-army physical training instructor Robert Gliniany and wife Debbie are offering the new concept for children aged four to 12-years-old.

Party games with a twist will include musical soldiers, 'pass the grenade', tug of war and an assault course, as well as the chance for children to learn military commands, march and even try a fitness test.

Former Royal Engineer Mr Gliniany, 33, was made redundant from the Army two years ago, and has most recently worked in asbestos removal.

Mrs Gliniany, who is currently shop manager of Tiger in Cwmbran, explained: "After 14 years in the Army, my husband found it extremely difficult to adapt to civilian life and found his skills were not quite as transferable as we had thought.

"We came up with the idea of this venture to bridge the gap between the two worlds and it gives my husband the confidence and knowledge that he can use his skills in a positive way within civvie life."

The couple, who live with one-year-old daughter Maggie in Clos Cae Nant, Cwmbran, can be hired for venues in the same way a DJ would.

Mrs Gliniany added: "I think this idea is different and is a great way to get children enjoying being active, by really engaging with them and teaching them some important life lessons too.

"Our aim is to make our business as successful as possible with the goal of potentially expanding our brand nationwide and hiring many more ex-soldiers to work for us."

The Little Soldiers' Bootcamp will also be working closely with charity Help For Heroes, with parents asked to make donations if children use a special dressing up photo booth available at events.
