THE tearooms at Llanyrafon Manor have re-opened with new award-winning owners taking over the premises.

It was previously operated by Raspberry Catering who ceased trading at the site on Thursday, March 31 as the owners wished to concentrate on expanding the catering side of their business.

However, Elm Tree Foods moved into the tearooms at Llanyrafon Manor last month and are welcoming visitors, old and new.

The new owners of the tearooms are award-winning artisan pie bakers, producing handmade premium pies and pasties, which started from Elm Tree Farm in Goldcliff in 2010.

The products have proved popular at farmers’ markets and music festivals across the UK and are sold wholesale to delis, hotels, pubs and cafés.

With Barista trained staff and freshly ground coffee, the tearooms also offer cakes and Welsh ice cream among the items on its menu.

A children's menu has also been introduced with the children's activity room re-opened with games, colouring and soft toys.

The impressive grade II listed building is one of the oldest, non-religious buildings in Torfaen while visitors to the centre can learn about the history of the manor and walk around its grounds.

The rural market will continue on the last Sunday of every month which showcases the best of local produce including arts and crafts, breads, cheese and pickles, jewellery and much more.
