A CWMBRAN primary school has teamed up with the Premier League with the aim of inspiring the students to learn while being active and developing life skills.

Nant Celyn Primary School will participate in the Premier League Stars programme and has received book box filled with titles from authors including Cressida Cowell, James Patterson and Frank Lampard as well as other equipment to allow the children to take part in a number of sports.

Jonathan Bussy, the school’s head teacher, said: “Nant Celyn School is keen to promote health and well-being amongst its staff and children and this generous donation will now support the school in doing so.”

Richard Scudamore, the executive chairman of the Premier League and Football Trustee said: “Congratulations to Nant Celyn Primary School on their successful application for a Premier League Primary Stars equipment pack. “We hope this pack, coupled with the free downloadable online resources, will help teachers harness the popularity of football and inspire primary school children in everything from English and maths, teamwork and sport.”
