YOUNG drivers aged between 17 and 25 in Torfaen, who have already passed their test, can learn extra driving skills and could receive a discount on their car insurance costs by taking part in the Pass Plus Cymru scheme.

There is no test and the course focusses on driving at night, on rural country roads, in busy towns and on motorways, and is designed to improve driving techniques and hazard awareness.

The training is subsidised by Welsh Government and costs £20 for a three hour classroom session, followed by four hours driver training, although the fee will be waived for anyone currently in education.

The next session is held in New Inn Fire Station on Thursday, January 25 from 6pm until 11pm, and the driver training will be arranged on the night.

Places can be booked at dragondriver.com or by calling 0845 050 4255.
