After last weeks 32 - 3 victory at Whiteheads, New Panteg continued their pre-season preparations with a comprehensive 43 - 5 home win over a spirited Crickhowell team. Despite going down to an early try from a powerful driving maul, New Panteg were soon in the ascendancy through their pacey backs. Winger Lewis Hinwood galloped over for two tries before opposite wing man Joe Richardson scored a try of his own. Numerous changes were made throughout the game by the hosts but this did nothing to stem the tide of tries. Replacement scrum half Rhys Gunter powered over for two tries before Tom Haynes secured a brace at the death.

New Panteg are expecting a sterner test next Saturday when Cwmbran visit in the last of their pre-season friendlies before the rigours of league action commences. Training is held on Tuesdays and Thursday and old and new players are always welcome.
