ANOTHER week, another shock return in the Pontypool front row, this time with loose-head James Greenfield returning just weeks after acrimoniously quitting Pontypool park for Newport.

Jamie Jeune and Bedwas’ Dan Preece have been among those to provide cover  on permit but with both unavailable this weekend and Matthew Prosser and Sam Cook all out Pooler have been forced to bring Greenfield back, after he was left out of the Black and Ambers squad to travel to Pontypridd.

He’s one of seven changes to the side which went down so disappointingly 21-6 at Llanharan last weekend.

Ben Parry returns to the starting line-up in place of Luke Palmer at Hooker, while returning dragons Academy second-row Joe Davies comes straight back in for his Academy colleague Derryn Jones who drops out of the matchday 20.

In the back row the captain Luke Dykchoff will be a boost as he returns from injury at No.8 in place of Ben Sparks who his still suffering with an eye injury picked up last weekend.

At Scrum-half Josh Guy replaces Aaron Quick who is out with a dead leg and will partner Sam Mills who starts for the first time this term at outside-half, while Chirs Lang comes back in on the wing in place of Lewis Hudd.

“Getting back on track has been the key message this week,” head coach Mike Hook said.

“We missed our chances on Saturday and we can’t afford to do that this weekend. It’s a massive game for us.

“Bonymaen are going to come up here to prove a point and try and improve their own position and I’m sure they’re going to really take us on.”
