TWO young boxers from Torfaen Warriors ABC are celebrating after gold medal-winning performances.
Danny Thomas, aged 12, and cousin William Bennett, aged 13, took part in the first-ever Lord Lonsdale Amateur Box Cup at Penrith, near Carlisle.
They both came back as gold medallists, and if they win again next year, they receive an amateur Lonsdale Belt. A third successful defence and they would get to keep the belts.
Danny and William are next in action on June 16-17 at the Bristol Box Cup where they both struck gold last year.
Head coach at Cwmbran-based Torfaen Warriors, Simon Weaver, said: “These two boxers are definitely future stars."
