FORGESIDE U7S V ABERTILLERY U8S

FORGESIDE U7s played host to Abertillery U8s on Sunday and ran them close in a tightlyfought contest.

Prior to the game commencing both sides held a minute’s silence in honour of our fallen heroes which was fully respected by both sets of players and supporters.

The game then started at a furious pace with the visitors starting the strongest as they ran in three unanswered tries, however the Black and Ambers were not to be outdone as they fought back scoring tries through Ben Skyrme who bagged himself a brace following good build-up play from Kai Teale, Riley Coslett and Will Marshall.

The visitors then stretched their lead but once again Forge bounced back with Ieuan Rowlands scoring four tries for the second week running with some outstanding individual runs which gave the opposition the runaround as he sidestepped his way over the line on each occasion.

Cian Pearce scored his first try for the club and also put in his best performance for the club to date, and in the process he gained himself the player of the match award.

Other players to make an impression this week were Harrison Reed as he put in a solid performance and was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet.

This along with Callum Kenvin, Evan Weeks and Dione Kenvin who did not stop running and tagging from the first whistle to the last.

Finally Arron Turner scored his trademark try towards the end of the game after some good passing from Demi Jenkins.

Final score Forgeside eight tries, Abertillery 11 tries.
