MONMOUTH TOWN RESERVES 5 CWMBRAN CELTIC 2 A
CRAIG Lewis hat-trick, his third in his last five games, was enough to maintain Monmouth Reserves’ 100 per cent league record as they beat Cwmbran Celtic 5 – 2 at the sports ground.
This Saturday, the Kingfishers return to the Sportsground for the first of five consecutive home games looking to keep the pressure on the leaders in a clash with Gwent rivals Caerleon (2pm kick-off) who were promoted with the Town last season.
It will be a particularly interesting clash as it pits Town goalkeeper Blackburn and centre half Evans against their old team-mates with only bragging rights up for grabs at this stage of the season. Caerleon are 12th in the division, Monmouth fifth.
On November 24, The Kingfishers are fielding substitutes of a different kind, hosting Mod covers band The Substitutes who recently supported Bruce Foxton’s From The Jam in Cardiff.
The gig starts at 8pm.
Tickets are only £5 with a free pint on entry and available from Les Car Care in Monnow Street or at the club itself.
