A RALLY driver from Cwmbran is looking forward to his first season in rallying.
Scott Larder, 27, fought his way into rallying against over 6000 entries through the RallyTeam GB Facebook competition to find a rally star.
He is nowlooking to make his debut in the prestigious BTRDA Rally Championship Series during 2013.
Mr Larder will enter the championship to compete in six out of nine events using a professionally prepared Nissan Micra 1300cc.
He said: “Being chosen as the third driver for RallyTeam GB was a massive achievement in itself and words cant describe what competing on Wales Rally GB meant to me.
“But to actually think I’ll be starting my own career as a rally driver this year is most definitely the stuff of dreams.”
The production operator at HWMWater made his first appearance as a rally driver on the Historical WRC Wales Rally GB last September as the RallyTeam GB third driver and finished the three- day battle 33rd out of 45 starters contesting the National B event.
Mr Larder added: “After a very successful Wales Rally GB back in September I’m now looking for local support and sponsors through local companies and businesses to keep my dream alive for my first event, the Plains Rally in Welshpool.
“I find it hard to comprehend that I am now looking to be competing in the events I have attended only as a spectator. I never thought this would happen.”
