Forgeside redeem themselves with good performance

 FORGESIDE U7s put in a couple of good performances on the weekend but only gained one win from their two games.

In the first game of the morning against Oakdale the Forgeside youngsters were slow out of the blocks and found themselves down by five tries to one with Evan Weeks being the solitary Forgeside scorer.

However they put in a much better second half and clawed their way back with scores from Ieuan Rowlands who got a hat trick along with eight tags and Cian Pearce making a good run and scored a good try. Harrison Reed, Callum Kenvin and Kai Teale each made good breaks and each got one tag each.

The team were well led by Captain Will Marshall and vice Captain Demi Jenkins. Final score Oakdale 6 tries Forgeside 5 tries.

In their second game of the morning the Black and Ambers put in a much better all round performance. With Callum Kenvin bagging 4 tries and 3 tags to gain himself the most improved player of the day.

Riley Coslett scored a very good try and made 2 tags and Ieuan Rowlands made 8 tags, Harrison Reed made 3 tags, Ashton McCarthy 1 tag and Evan Weeks scored 3 tries and 1 tag which contributed to him receiving the player of the match award. Alfie McCann also had a solid game.

Final score Risca 5 tries Forgeside 8 tries. Next week Forgseside are on the road again where they travel to play Deri.
