SECOND Division Gwent County Cwmffrwdoer Sports Club have been drawn against Newport-based Gwent County Division One side Albion Rovers in the semi finals of the Gwent Amateur Cup.

The match will be played at the recreation ground home of Aberbargoed Buds on Tuesday the 19th of March, kick-off at 7.15pm.

In the other semi-final Division one league leaders Liswerry FC have been drawn against Pontymister who are presently 3rd in the first Division.

Doer manager Neil Reed is fully aware that they go into the game as firm underdogs: "We have done very well to get so far as we have, we are under no illusion about the task that we have in front of us.

“Having said that we are playing very well, we are competing on all fronts and keeping the ball well, at this stage in the cup there's never an easy tie, we are going there to give our best, and if we do that we can create an upset."

This week the Doer entertain Cefn Fforest in the league, due to their cup run they are playing catch up on the league front and have several games in hand on a number of sides above them.

They have recently signed prolific striker Dwain Hunt form Tranch AFC, together with Ryan and Nathan Simons from Blaenavon Blues. Also returning for the Doer is centre back Joel Reed who has missed the past four months through injury.

Finally everyone at the Doer would wish Scott Passmore a speedy recovery, having sadly broken his leg whilst playing for the second eleven last week end.
