Pizza man helps Severn Tunnel clinch point
3:10pm Monday 11th March 2013 in Sport
SEVERN Tunnel B registered their first point of the season thanks to a man of the match performance by a local pizzeria owner.
“He’s Turkish and his name is Fatih Ocal but we can’t shout that during the match so we call him Mark the Pizza Man,” explained Tunnel manager Ron Atkins.
Although jubilant at seeing his team, who have let in 96 goals so far this season, Ron blamed a “dodgy penalty” for robbing his men of two more points in their 3-3 draw at Portskewett & Sudbrook in the East Gwent Senior League Division 2.
“We went two up through goals from Daryl Hill and Mark the Pizza Man, they equalised and then went ahead with a dodgy penalty but Mark Carter Selwood grabbed the equaliser," he said.
