Chepstow 2nds 197 for 7 beat Panteg 2nds 190 all out by 7 runs.
In an exciting finish, Chepstow's bowlers and fielders held their nerve and successfully defended their first innings total of 197
After winning the toss, Chepstow skipper Huw Rogers elected to bat but the normally reliable top order struggled to only 50 runs for 4 wickets before Oliver Thornhill (80) and Dan Price (28) put together an excellent partnership that enabled the home team to register a competitive total on a sporting wicket.
Thornhill batted superbly and with the lower order also chipping in with vital runs, Chepstow felt confident of defending their first innings score
Panteg however scored freely and were well-placed at 120 for 2 but Chepstow's bowling and fielding stepped up a gear and turned the game on its head with Josh Tregaskes (2 for 26) and Sam Jackson (3 for 28) bowling their spin with excellent control to halt the visitors; innings on 190 all out.
Chepstow took 18 points and moved to fourth in the table.
