James Hook signs new four-year deal with Perpignan
JAMES Hook looks as if he could end his career at the top by staying in France after signing a new four-year deal with Perpignan.
The talented Wales star has been on the periphery of the national team since the 9-8 World Cup semi-final defeat to France in New Zealand two years ago.
Although the utility back played his part in the 2012 Grand Slam and this year’s Six Nations triumph, it was often as a bit-player.
The 28-year-old failed to make the Lions squad to Australia this summer when the tourists won the series 2-1 under the guidance of Wales head coach Warren Gatland.
Hook, who has been playing in his preferred position of outside-half at the Catalan side announced the new deal on Twitter.
"Chuffed to be staying at Perpignan... for 4 more years," he tweeted.
Hook, who can also play in the centre and on the wing, has won 70 Wales caps and toured South Africa with the 2009 Lions.
He joined Top 14 giants Perpignan on a three-year deal from Welsh region the Ospreys in 2011.
