ABERGAVENNY cyclist Becky James won the women’s keirin at round four of the Revolution Series in Manchester on Saturday.

The star also finished third in the women’s individual sprint behind Jess Varnish and Vicky Williamson

The double world champion tweeted on Sunday: “Had a great time racing at the @RevolutionUK last night! Great crowds and atmosphere, I hope everyone enjoyed it :)”

The fifth and final round of the series takes place in London on March 14 and 15.

The podium positions follow James’ three medals at the Track World Cup in Manchester in November.

During that event, British cycling’s breakout star of 2013 was not at her best but still claimed silver in the keirin to go with her bronze in the match sprint and the silver she and Victoria Williamson took in the team sprint.
