  • "Worst showing I have ever seen. May as well wave white flags at the start of each game. The players with one or two exceptions today should feel downright ashamed of themselves. What an absolute shambles. The County can count themselves very lucky indeed that they are even still in the league, because their current form is below Conference standard.
The two players who saw red mist today should be fined heavily for their sheer indiscipline. What an absolute insult to us loyal supporters.
If anybody makes excuses for this mind numbing display and says again "how far we have come" I will scream!"

NINE-MAN Newport were beaten by Portsmouth in front of a crowd of more than 4,000 at Rodney Parade.

The visitors led 2-0 at the break thanks to a Ryan Taylor penalty and a Jed Wallace header after Adam Chapman's disgusting lunge on Danny Hollands gave Pompey a man advantage.

Ismail Yakubu headed County back into things with time running out, but Darcy Blake's late red for a second yellow card ended any hopes of a revival.
