Goytre overcame Undy Athletic at Caldicot to lift the Gwent Senior Cup for the first time.

A couple of fine goals from James Young before the break at Jubilee Way proved enough for Goytre to coem out on top.

Undy had their moments as first Ben Roberts hit the bar with a header and then James Barnes saw his late penalty saved by Goytre goalkeeper Nicky Thomas, as they edged matters after the interval.

However Goytre were obviously far more clinical in front of goal when it mattered most and on that basis alone, they proved worth winners.

Young's first came on just four minutes when he gathered a loose ball, strode forward and unleashed a low shot which Undy goalkeeper James Smallcombe could not prevent from going inside the far post.

His second, eighteen minutes later, was an even better effort as he wriggled and squirmed his way past at least three would-be tacklers inside Undy's penalty area before firing a low shot past a helpless Smallcombe.
