NEWPORT Gwent Dragons will open their season with a trip to Galway to take on Connacht in the Guinness Pro12.

Lyn Jones’ side then enjoy three home fixtures in the first month of the campaign, welcoming the Ospreys, Glasgow and Treviso to Rodney Parade.

They will once again play Cardiff Blues twice over the festive period – this time heading to BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park first before a New Year return in Newport.

The Dragons finish the campaign against Munster in either Cork or Limerick while the Millennium Stadium double-header will be on April 24, 25 or 26.

The exact dates of the fixtures will be confirmed once Sky Sports and their fellow broadcasters decide on their live games.

3 home games in a row in September should see us get up and running if we win them but I'd rather have them spread out. It's a bit much 3 weekends in a row and then we will gave a period of no home games somewhere
