EACH week Pooler captain Ben Parry takes you exclusively inside the historic dressing room.

This week he reflects on the relief of narrow win over local rivals Newbridge, following a month-long hiatus for the Autumn internationals.

"It was great to get back on the field this week after a four week break to our season.

We welcomed Newbridge to the park for a local derby and what was a close encounter in which we was very happy to get the win.

But although we started really well and looked like running away with the game we some how let them back in to the game.

As a group we have spoken about this and can't continue to do this especially as we come up against stronger teams in our league.

When we get into commanding positions we need to be more ruthless and not take our foot off the gas.

In saying this, take nothing away from Newbridge who fought right until the final whistle and got a well deserved losing bonus point.

We travel to newly promoted Merthyr this weekend.

This is going to be a test for us but one we are relishing.

I'm sure this week's training will be focussing on the positives parts of our game and continuing to improve as a unit.

As a team I don't think we have peaked as yet and hopefully this isn't to far away. Thanks once again for the support Saturday - you were fantastic as usual."
