TALYWAIN RFC travelled to Abertysswg in a reversed fixture on the weekend.
A brace of tries from Jamie Parry and nine points from the boot of Adam Williams secured the four points for Talywain in a 19-12 victory.
The pack was outstanding and clearly on top throughout, controlling the scrum with ease.
The back line also put in a excellent defensive performance and attacked really well.
The foundation laid by the front five allowed the back row of Needs, Parry and Jenkins to stop any threat from the Abertysswg attack play.
Josh Harris put in an outstanding performance and was awarded man of the match.
Talywain travel to Brynmawr next Saturday. Kick off is at 2.30pm.
In other club news, Josh Harris and Jeff Clutterbuck are the pool double champions.
They breezed past, Kirk Needs and Scot Powell first, and then Jamie Willmott and Luke Bigham to take the title.
