THIS model seventeenth century castle is being auctioned in July. It was built with painstaking care by 40 members of the Aboyne Craft Club, including Catherine Slater, above, and other local craftspeople.

Beliss Castle, Speyside, has stained-glass windows and a coat of arms above the door. It is fully furnished, carpeted in the Beliss tartan, and has a four-poster bed. Works of art grace the walls, and tiger skins drape the floors.

The castle is being sold in aid of the charity, Save the Children, whose patron, the Princess Royal, is expected to attend. It is on display at Ballindalloch Castle, between Grantown and Aberlour, until July. The reserve is #3000.
