ARMED raiders escaped with several thousand pounds yesterday after

threatening a security guard who was making a delivery of cash to a bank

in Coatbridge. The two balaclava-clad men are thought to have been

carrying sawn-off shotguns when they intercepted the guard outside the

Royal Bank of Scotland in Easton Place at midday.

They escaped in a silver Montego car driven by a third man who is

described as between 30 and 40 with thick light brown hair, well built,

and wearing a green wax jacket. The three later abandoned the stolen

Montego and escaped in a brown or wine-coloured Vauxhall Cavalier.
