Sisterly embrace: A tearful welcome from their fellow Roman Catholic

nuns awaits Sister Fatima Uribarren, 38, and Sister Julia Foraster, 63,

who were held for 20 days in a Philippine mountain hideout by Muslim

guerrillas demanding a #53,000 ransom. The Spanish sisters, said to be

still traumatised and bitter that the kidnappers jeered at their moral

values, arrived safely in Manila yesterday. They were handed over with

no ransom paid to the Libyan and Palestinian ambassadors at a guerrilla

stronghold near their convent in Jolo, where the two nuns work at a

leper colony.
