A POLICEMAN died and four other officers were injured when their car
crashed as they went to the aid of colleagues. Probationary Police
Constable Matthew Parsonson, 27, who lived with his girlfriend and their
five-year-old son and seven-month-old daughter in the Clacton area of
Essex, had joined the Metropolitan Police three weeks ago. Two women
officers were in serious but not life-threatening condition in hospital
after the accident. The police vehicle hit a parked vehicle and
overturned.
