Baron St Clair Bonde, a Swedish aristocrat, is the owner of Charleton

House, an estate in Fife where he has nursed his ambition to build his

own golf course. Inside the house there is a dazzling collection of

antique furniture. The curious throne-like chair was one of the earliest

raffle prizes ever recorded. It was originally to be presented to Queen

Victoria at the great exhibition of 1851 -- a gift she refused to

accept. It was raffled at #1 a ticket and won by one of the Baron's

ancestors.
