A BUILDER yesterday denied stealing #62,847 from the Inland Revenue

during work on a new building for Glasgow's procurator-fiscal service.

Mr John O'Donnell, 39, denied at Glasgow Sheriff Court that between

September 1990 and June 1991 he reset stolen sub-contractors' tax

certificates and vouchers.

He also denied submitting them with forged signatures to main

contractors Credential Construction Ltd, for the Legal Services Centre

in Gorbals.

Mr O'Donnell, of Norfolk Court, Gorbals, further denied he failed to

pass on tax of #62,847 to the Inland Revenue.

The case continues.
