BRIXTON jailbreaker Nessan Quinlivan faced seven new charges when he

appeared in a Dublin court yesterday.

Quinlivan, 28, who was arrested by detectives in County Tipperary last

April, has already been charged with firearms offences connected with

his arrest.

The court has fixed October 5 as the date for his trial on those

charges.

Quinlivan, from Ballynanty Beg, County Limerick, is accused of having

a revolver and three rounds of ammunition with intent to endanger life

at Grallagh, Nenagh, County Tipperary on April 4.

However, seven new charges connected with incidents in County

Tipperary almost four years ago were also brought against him.

Quinlivan was remanded in custody until July 6. He escaped from

Brixton prison, south London, in July 1991, along with Pearse McCauley

from Strabane.

The two men were awaiting trial in Britain at the time on charges of

conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to cause explosions, and possession of

firearms.
