May 24.

I refer to the Glasgow holiday Monday chaos (May 24). Why was the date

changed? It undoubtedly was, since an eminent Glasgow printer had May 31

printed on its calendar as Glasgow holiday Monday.

While district and region staff were tucked up in their beds, other

earners were struggling to cope with a reduced holiday service on the

trains and a non-existent Sunday service on the buses. Many arrived late

at the office.

Next week the trains and buses will lose a fortune running a full

service catering for district and region staff only.

I trust that the powers-that-be will now get their act together and

prevent a repetition of the utter chaos that ensued.
