PUPILS are bringing life back to the Necropolis by planting hundreds of wildflowers in the famous cemetery.
Schoolchildren from Golfhill Primary in Glasgow's Dennistoun took up their tools to plant 400 flowers at the entrance near John Knox Street and Wishart Street.
The project, funded by the Glasgow Natural History Society and supported by Friends of Glasgow Necropolis and Historic Scotland, will help encourage more wildlife to the area as well as enhancing the look of the area for visitors.
Dave Garner, ecologist at Glasgow City Council, said: "The Necropolis is one of the best cemeteries for finding wildlife in the city. The wildflowers will help increase the number and variety of species in this wildlife haven.
"The involvement of Friends of the Necropolis and local schoolchildren helps maintain the link with the community."
