MORE than 1200 people in Milngavie are enjoying improved water pressure after improvement work was carried out.

Scottish Water said 536 Dunbartonshire properties have been taken off its low water pressure register.

The properties affected are in the Craigdhu Road District Metering Area - from Drumlin Road in the south to Craigdhu Road in the north and from Prestonfield in the west to Braehead Avenue in the east.

They were previously supplied from a reservoir at the Milngavie Water Treatment Works but suffered low pressure due to the height above sea level of their homes compared to the works.

The properties are now served by the Burncrooks WTW and a service reservoir at Baljaffray which is higher.

Jake Ratter, Scottish Water's leakage delivery team leader, said: "We are confident customers will be pleased with the improvements."
