GLASGOW Warriors coach Sean Lineen is facing an anxious wait to see if Andy Henderson will be available for his side's Magners League clash with Leinster at Hughenden on Friday.

Henderson suffered a nasty head knock in the 23-19 European Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat with Saracens at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

If club medics confirm the Scotland centre has concussion, he will miss the visit of the title contenders.

Meanwhile, the SRU have defended their decision to axe Border Reivers following criticism from Edinburgh owner Bob Carruthers.

He claimed in an article in a Sunday newspaper that the decision to scrap the Reivers had been taken long before the results of a strategic review.

The Board also defended the SRU chief executive whose integrity they believed had been called into question by the report.

A statement said: "The Board stated before it was formed, in July 2005, that too many SRU decisions were taken on emotional grounds.

"They were for the short- term good and were not in the long-term best interests for the future health of the sport. This board is not prepared to follow suit."
