MARMOZETS, the young stars who began their career with a Keighley music prize, will play the main stage at this year’s Leeds Festival.

The heavy Bingley five-piece have just finished a journey across the country supporting top rock band Muse during their Psycho UK tour.

Marmozets will play Leeds Festival on August 30 in advance of headliners Bring Me The Horizon and Metallica.

The band are no strangers to the festival stage, after being the closing night headliners at last summer’s BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury.

Marmozets, who won a Battle of the Bands in Keighley before their rise to fame, are fronted by Becca McIntyre.

The band were invited to join Muse immediately after finishing their own sell-out headline tour.

They will perform at the T In The Park on July 12 and plan to announce a host of other UK festival appearances shortly.

The Marmozets’ international festival schedule this year already includes Idaho’s Treefort Music Festival, the Hurricane Festival in Germany, and Japan’s famous Summer Sonic event in August.

Marmozets will this month embark on an extensive North American tour which will take them through to late May. Headline shows will be followed by support slots with The Used and Chevelle.

Marmozets’ debut album The Weird And Wonderful Marmozets was named on 2014 album of the year lists in Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, Rock Sound, Big Cheese and Total Guitar.

It also earned glowing reviews from The Guardian, Q and DIY.
